January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

Updated: Mar 8

January serves as a reminder for women to maintain the health of vital parts of their bodies. Unlike men, women have a cervix that requires special attention.

Sometimes, tiny entities known as viruses may attempt to enter a woman's body through the cervix. Usually, the body is adept at combating them, but occasionally, these viruses can cause health problems.

The encouraging news is that there are methods to prevent this. Just as we learn various ways to protect ourselves, there are actions girls can take, such as maintaining good nutrition, and there is also a vaccine available to prevent this type of cancer.

Similar to visiting the doctor for routine checkups to ensure our well-being, there are specific checkups available for girls and women to monitor their cervical health and maintain their wellness.

Therefore, January is a time to remember to discuss with our parents or doctors any questions or unusual occurrences with our bodies that may require medical attention.
